Cancer surgeries, especially those surgeries which involve lymph node removal, may sometimes cause a condition called lymphedema, where excess lymphatic fluid builds up and results in swelling, particularly in the arms or legs. If left untreated, it can be debilitating to the patient. Lympha press is an equipment that is used to drain the accumulated fluid.

Our Trust has set up this machine at the day-care centre in Kumaran Hospital for the benefit of lymphedema patients so as to improve the quality of their lives.
